We used this with a magpie steam iron rest, the old silicon pad was stiff and the steam iron kept sliding around. This pad hold the iron hot plate in place.

Silicon mat

Quality

I’ve bought a few of the silicone mats in the past from here and always thought the quality adequate, but this item is a lot thinner and the quality is quite bad, and because of the quality I found it to be very expensive hence the 2* rating
